Sunday 7th March Countryside east of Coventry. A 7½ mile walk around the village of Brinklow, east of Coventry, taking in the grounds of Coombe Abbey (where we will have an extended lunch stop if the weather is fine to allow exploration of the grounds), the Rolls Royce factory and the Oxford Canal. The walk will end by passing over the remains of a Motte and Bailey and a medieval field system. Meet outside the Post Office in Brinklow for an 11.00 start. There is no car park, but free parking on the side of the road is possible. Otherwise, park sensitively in the housing estates nearby. Closest postcode is CV23 0LS. Co-ordinator is Rory. Grid ref. Bromyard and area. A circular walk on the Herefordshire/Worcestershire border. 8 miles, undulating countryside with two short steep ascents. Includes Bromyard Downs and Bringsty Common giving good views across both counties. Starting at 11.00 from the car park alongside Brockhampton Primary School, just off the A44 Worcester to Leominster Road. From Worcester turn right just after the entrance to Brockhampton National Trust estate entrance. Closest postcode WR6 5TD. Bring a packed lunch. Leader is Laurie (call 01743 367455) . Grid ref.
